Hoping to post a couple more today that I've been working on. 

Just thought that I'd also share with you how excited I am that I received a cake order after my cake post.  I'm making a "Pink Poodle in Paris" cake!  I can't wait.  This is for a special little girl that wants to have "gifts" as cakes in the matching colors and then we'll put the premade cake toppers on.  I've recently learned how to make fondant ribbons so I'm really looking forward to the fun that I'm going to have with that one!

Gotta head out to JFK way too early this morning but for a good reason!  Big Momma is landing soon and I'm surprising my little people with her arrival.  So, my posts may be a little far  between this week as I visit and hug my momma until I have to let her go home to my dad.

Odd Job Fun!

I'm starting with these few items first as I have a lot of other listings in the works.  This blog is all about finding fun stuff to do for extra spending money, so here's one of the things that I love to do!!

Lego Indiana Jones with WII remotes

I started with this Lego one for my son and then moved on from there.  Several of my friends started requesting cakes for their kids and I have been having a blast with it since then.  I framed my first $20 bill instead of spending it.  Even gave my kitchen a bakery name (patent pending!)  SO, this is my first odd job listing.  This is something I love doing.  From my friends, I don't like taking money, but, they threw it at me, so, I'm not complaining!  It's a little "me" money! 
When you find something that you love and then you can make some "cha-ching" off of it - start marketing yourself!  I went to MAMAPEDIA and listed myself locally as a cake maker!  Haven't received any calls off of it yet, but, you never know!  I know word of mouth is a big deal - it's how my next Odd Job listing got me a position that I hope to keep for years to come!  The 5 year old birthday presents cakes got me an instant order from the party.  I especially loved that the woman requested my chocolate cake (my new favorite homemade recipe)

Day One and another Introduction!

So, I am always looking for something to do.  I am a SAHM to 2 wonderful little men and love hanging out with my awesome husband.  I teach piano at my home and have been teaching for 20 years (minus 3-4 months)  I bake cakes too.  Love making fancy cakes by my design.  Don’t know where that’ll take me yet.  I also started a Mommy blog (www.thoughtsfromthismom.blogspot.com) and put a few sponsors on there to make a couple of bucks.  But, more and more I see more moms being product reviewers and blogging about items and decided, this is the way to get started.
Now, I’m going to completely overwhelm myself again by doing countless hours of online research to get myself involved.  I don’t want to do couponing and the like.  I want to review and giveaway stuff.  There are tons of couponers out there, and bless them, they rock.   Slowly, I’ll be taking the time to add them into their own sub-category here as well.  It’s amazing the types of relationships you can develop with these women on our day to day conversations and how much you get to know about them.
That’s why I’m hoping to develop a whole other kind of blog that involves everyone, not just moms (even though, we do totally rock) and gets a great following.  Join along with me as I discover this wonderful world of blogging product reviews!
